Grand Atlantic
About:

Brisbane powerpop favourites Grand Atlantic follow up their acclaimed 2007 debut with an enthralling and mysterious new album, How We Survive. The new album was mixed by Magoo (Midnight Oil, End Of Fashion) and was released in mid 2009 by Laughing Outlaw Records.

Grand Atlantic play a stunning mixture of melodic, hard-hitting rock, inspired by the pop sensibilities of Big Star and The Beatles, but with a modern production and a healthy dose of Australian rock muscle. Already, tracks from the new album have been featured on Triple J’s Unearthed podcast as well as numerous blogs and podcasts, with more every week. Internet radio stations everywhere from Belgium to Russia have been playing songs and the band was picked for AusTrade in LA’s Planetary Compilation, a college radio sampler of the best emerging music in Australia, resulting in extensive radio play in the US college market. Now, Australian radio is embracing How We Survive with airplay on Melbourne’s Triple R and PBS, Sydney’s FBi and 2SER, Triple J nationally and 4ZZZ in their hometown, where the band hit #2 for overall plays on the station.

Already, Grand Atlantic has been picked to provide the soundtrack for summer TV shows on the USA Network, the largest cable network in America – and 3.6 million viewers are now hearing the frantic rush of “Holding Pattern”. It’s a good indication of the reputation of the band and the immediacy of their music.
