Rocketsmiths
About:
Playing a unique style of music that has been described as everything from “carnie rock” to “vaudevillian indie rock”, Rocketsmiths have been smashing audiences all over the country with their wildly-entertaining live shows over the last couple of years. Now, after releasing two critically acclaimed EPs, enjoying widespread radio play and gaining a legion of fans across Australia, Rocketsmiths are releasing this single as a precursor to their highly anticipated first album, recorded once again with Brisbane super producer, Magoo, and due out in the first quarter of 2010.

The new recordings signal a new direction for Rocketsmiths, leaving behind their countryish/rockabilly roots and delving more into indie rock, punk and party jams. It’s heavier, louder and just a little bit eccentric, with the new songs some of the best the band has written. At the same time, there’s intelligence and a questing

“Their songs sound like the soundtrack to a b-grade vampire movie set in the deep south of the USA. That’s a good thing.” – BeforeHollywood

“A Brisbane band with a big reputation, Rocketsmiths play rabble-rousing country punk at a break-neck speed. They careen through songs with a joyful kind of chaos, invoking outlaw twang through lo-fi garage rock with impulsive little spasms littering their madcap landscape. Think Dropkick Murphys by way of B52s and The Living End. Good times, rock and roll, etc.” – Simone Ubaldi (Inpress)
